Hey there, and welcome! I’m glad you’ve found your way to my website!

As you might have guessed by now, my name is Barbara (but you can call me Barb), and I am in the business of making women stronger, leaner and more confident in their skin.

On this website, you will find a collection of all things fitness: from practical strength training knowledge to building mindset skills that will assist you in becoming a stronger, more resilient YOU.

Who I Am

I am a strength coach with a love for self-improvement. I am a full-time student and an amateur powerlifter in the 72kg class. I am a novice writer, working to improve my craft. I have a passion for becoming comfortable with the uncomfortable, meeting inspiring people, and learning about things I have no clue about.

My mission as a coach is to educate, uplift, guide, and assist women towards achieving their personal goals. I have almost 5 years of experience working with women of varying fitness levels, and it has been an extremely rewarding journey so far!

How It All Began

Growing up with body image issues isn’t easy for anyone; weight training showed me that I could quite literally transform my physique by enhancing my strengths and working around my weaknesses.

However, the biggest change for me was the evolved mindset that came with the commitment, dedication and drive to pursue goals, inside and outside the gym.

That mindset has diffused into other areas of my life, which enhanced my sense of self-worth and allowed me to move confidently towards challenges I wished to overcome.

I started training clients in 2013 and I haven’t looked back since. Today, I work with women of all fitness levels who are looking to become stronger, leaner, and overall just more badass.

As well as providing personalized training and nutrition guidance to my clients in Canada and worldwide, I am proud to be a part of Barbell Strength in the Netherlands.

I decided this year to work with a personal trainer and I had never done it before. I have been active my whole life but with a demanding work schedule I needed some help. I met with Barbara in the Summer and we went through my goals and plans, she was very thorough. Going through a workout with Barb, you know you’re in good hands. She is very attentive to checking for the correct form of every exercise. She takes time to help you set realistic fitness goals and work with you on every step, from designing a workout plan to nutrition guidance.
